Our Impact Our Impact
Everything we do has an environmental or social impact.
The period care industry is no exception.
Each year, over 20 billion pads, tampons and applicators enter landfills and waterways in North America. Many of these products take over 500 years to biodegrade.
Aisle products
Aisle products are reusable for years, and have a significantly lower environmental footprint compared to conventional tampons and pads.

-
The apparel industry is the third worst polluter in the world.
Fast fashion brands are flooding the market with cheaply made period underwear that harm the planet. Don’t be fooled: there’s nothing sustainable about a product that doesn’t last, doesn’t fit and won’t be worn again and again.
Making a material difference
-
Most disposable pads and tampons are made with chemicals and plastics.
At Aisle, we do our very best to source the most sustainable textiles so you can feel really good about your choices. Our pads and underwear use a combination of safe, eco-certified materials like organic cotton, Tencel™, and recycled polyester.

Our pad manufacturing facility is zero waste, and we’ve diverted over 10,800 pounds of textile waste from landfills since 2018.
Annually, we use the third party services of Climate Smart to measure and report on scope 2 and 3 for our GhG emissions.
